Accounts Receivable Analyst

40 hrs./wk.  8:00AM-4:30PM, Monday - Friday.  Prepares daily bank deposits; receives and processes all A/R monies for patients, insurances and GL accounts from deposit to posting, reconciling BAR and GL differences.  Logging of patient valuables; processes all incoming and outgoing mail; coverage for Front Lobby office as needed; assist in resolution of self-pay credit balances; other duties assigned.  Must have knowledge of patient billing, excellent analytical skills; knowledge of Meditech and must be familiar with office equipment.  Experience:  Minimum of an Accounting Certification from a Business School required and /or Accounts Receivable experience in a Healthcare environment. 

Case Manager

Part time weekend day position 8 hrs./wk. (4 hrs. Saturday and Sunday). Will be responsible for providing verbal and written explanation of observation to all observation status admissions within 24 hours of admission.  Will also be responsible for facilitating appropriate level of care assignment and discharge planning in the Emergency Department.  Qualifications:  RN with a BSN and Connecticut State License, as well as 3-5 years of Case Management experience.  Knowledge of Milliman Care Guidelines preferred.

Certified Nursing Assistant

Performs various duties assisting in the treatment and nursing care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient based on a fundamental knowledge and utilization of the nursing process and in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures.  Qualifications:  Must be a graduate of a Certified Nursing Assistant Program; State of Connecticut Certification is required. Prior acute care experience preferred. Skills:  BLS; basic computer skills including the ability to enter information pertaining to patient care per hospital policy.  Familiarity in working in Windows environment; knowledge of medical terminology; demonstrated working knowledge of a computerized medical information management systerm; demonstrated positive interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and project a positive image; good written and verbal communication skills required.

Certified Surgical Technician - OR

The Surgical Technologist is an individual with specialized education who functions a a member of the surgical team in the role of the scrub person.  He / she handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during surgical procedures.  Will have an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon.  Will have the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.  Surgical Technologists work under medical supervision to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.  Qualifications: Must be a Certified Surgical Technologist, a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program;  at least 2 years of prior experience is preferred; current  BLS Certification required.

Cook

Will prepare food for all patients and customers in a clean envirnonment practicing safe food handling; will read recipes, takes inventory and places food orders. Must have "Serve-Safe" Certification  within 6 months of hire.  Must have a minimum of one year Nursing Home or Hospital Cooking experience.  Prior Restaurant / Healthcare / Clinical food service experience preferred. Must be familiar with HACCP. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and withstand extended periods of standing and walking.

Financial Resource Associate

32 hrs./wk. - days  Monday - Thursday 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM; Friday 7:30 AM - 2:00 PM.  Coordinates and performs verifications of insurance benefits, determining eligibility by contacting insurance providers via telephone call or eligibility websites coverage and communicates the information to the appropriate team members in a timely efficient manner.   Reviews zero payment EOB's and insurance refund requests that involve insurance verification and COB issues.  Reponsible for sorting and distribution of hospital daily mail  Responsible for computer download and release of claims daily.  Works with volunteers organizing their assignments.  Runs propration listss and makes corrections.  Responsible for filing patient admission paperwork.  Liaison for our Extended Business Office.  Coordinates with hospital Administration to set up Doctors NPI's with commercial insurance companies.   Reviews the State of Connecticut monthly recovery audit report.  Requirements:  Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.  Demonstrates knowledge of insurance, one year of pre-certification experience, including navigating websites for online benefit reviews, excellent computer, multi-tasking and phone skills, the ability to work well under pressure (most paperwork is time sensitive), teamm player and willing to have diversified job duties.  Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Food Service Aide / Cashier

40 hrs./wk. 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM; must be available to work weekends and holidays when needed.  Will ring sales in an efficient and accurate manner; sets up and serves in cafeteria; follows daily menus and portions; provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times; maintains sanitary conditions within the Dept.  Requirements:  High School graduate preferred.  Must have good communication skills and must be able to speak, understand and write English; excellent customer service skills a must. Prior food service experience helpful.  Must have the ability to calculate numbers, corrects entries and posts records; ability to effectively communicate accounting information, policies and/or procedures in a manner easily understood by the customers; must have the ability to be crossed trained within the Dept.

Food Services Supervisor

16 hrs./wk, to cover the 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM shift.  Must be able to work weekends and holidays when needed.   Supervises all aspects of the Dept; audits, checks and manages staff functions to ensure proper meal service; relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals; completes administrative work (i.e. inventory, schedules); maintains a clean, sanitary environment for patients, visitors and staff.  Requirments: HS graduate with good communication/customer service skills a must with the ability to speak, understand and write English; Food Safety Certification; good working knowledge of commerical food service; requires familiarity with Nutrition Diet Modifications; must be able to program software and operate Tablet for Health Touch Patient Meal Ordering system.

 

Floor Refinisher / Service Aide

Per Diem position  to cover rotating shifts as needed.  No guarantee of weekly hours worked, no benefits with this position.   General cleaning, sweeping, mopping of floors, shampooing carpets, stripping & waxing floors, climbing ladders, bending and lifting up to 50lbs.  Prior floor care experience required. 

HISTOLOGY TECHNICIAN

Per Diem position.  To cover hours as needed in the Department.  No guarantee of hours worked, no benefits.   Will prepare tissue specimens, fine needle aspirations, embedding, cutting, staining and slide preparation of surgical tissue for diagnosis.  Performs secretarial and other duties as directed by the Histology Supervisor and the Pathologist.   Requirements:  At least 60 semester hours of academic credit with 12 semester hours in both Biology and Chemistry required.  Knowledge of histology techniques and procedures; minimum of one year experience in a CAP accredited laboratory required.  Meditech Pathology Module exp.; Histologist Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists preferred. 

Host / Hostess

Will promote meal assistance to all patients on a daily basis including meal selection, service and retrieval.  Accurately services food and beverages to patients in accordance with patient's diet prescription.  Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Must be a  High School graduate with good communication and customer service skills a must; able to speak and write English; prior healthcare food service experience; ability to be cross-trained; ability to use Health Touch software and tablet computer; knowledge of basic diet information; must successfully complete training.

Infection Preventionist/Quality Management Coordinator

40 hrs./wk.  The Infection Preventionist/Quality Management Coordinator will report to the Director of Quality Management and work collaboratively with other departments both in the hospital and the state and local community to promote the well-being and health of patients and employees.    The Infection Preventionist/Quality Management Coordinator is trained in hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of hospital and community acquired infections (HAI); educating employees about infection prevention; and the development of health system policies and procedures to insure rigorous infection control standards that meet Joint Commission, Centers for Medicaid/Medicare Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Connecticut Department of Public Health and other nationally recognized agencies recommendations and requirements. The Infection Preventionist/Quality Management Coordinator will also assists in the Employee Health Program  and be responsible for new employee orientation for Infection Control and Quality Management practices.  The Infection Preventionist/Quality Management Coordinator assists the Quality Mangement Director in a variety of functions including data collection, meeting facilitation, with federal, state and Joint Commission compliance as well as core measure implementation and numerous internal projects designed to improve the quality of care and patient safety.  Requirements:  Minimum of 2 years' experience in Infection Control.  Experience in Quality or Performance Improvement activities preferred.  Must be computer literal with experience in Microsoft Office to collect and create documents for data reporting.  Experience with Meditech system preferred.  Must be willing to become certified in Infection Control within two years of hire.

LEAD SERVICE AIDE/FLOOR REFINISHER

40 hrs./wk., Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM including every other weekend and holiday. Supervisory experience and floor / carpet experience needed.  General cleaning including trash and linen pickups; buffing, stripping and waxing of floors and shampooing carpets.  Must be qualified to take charge every other weekend and holiday and in the absence of the Supervisor.  Climbing ladders, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs. is required.  Must have prior floor cleaning experience.

Medical Lab Tech / Medical Technologist

Will perform various technical duties in the disciplines of Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank and Microbiology.  Operates both automated and manual testing instrumentation.  Evaluates quality control and verifies all patient results prior to release.  Contacts physicians to report critical results in accordance with laboratory policy; performs various computer operations in Meditech computer system, including patient registration / order entry, automated and manual result entry, quality control entry and patient result reporting.  In addition collects blood specimens in all areas of the hospital and Milford Medical Laboratory if required.  Requirements:  MT/MLT required with prior lab expeirence.  LG 35-37.

Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Per Diem position to cover hours as needed within the Dept.  No guarantee of hours and no benefits with this position.  Qualifications:  Minimum of 3 years experience preferred.  CNMT and /or RTN mandatory.  If employee holds an active R.T.R., a current CT state license is also required;  CPR certification; ACLS preferred.

NURSING SUPERVISOR

Per Diem position (#872-15R) to cover hours as needed.  No guarantee of hours and no benefits with this position. The Supervisor is responsible for the nursing care provided to patients, allocates and redistributes human and physical resources, assures patient safety, acts as resource person to staff, resolves problems for all hospital departments. Assures adequate staffing levels and mix for each nursing unit.  Qualificatons: CT RN License.  BLS, ACLS required;  BSN or BS required; 5 years professional experience in acute care required.  1-2 years of supervisor experience preferred. 

OPERATING ROOM ASSISTANT

Per Diem (#854-15C): To cover hours as needed within the Dept.  No guarantee of weekly hours/no benefits with this position.  Under the direction of the RN, assists the perioperative care team in many aspects of patient care, including but not limited to, patient care assistance, care of the environment, stocking rooms, picking cases, transportation of patients, supplies/equipment, specimens and blood products to, from and within the surgical unit. Must be a High School graduate; preferable a graduate of an Operating Room Assistant program, Surgical Technician program, or a C.N.A. Must be knowledgeable regarding basic medical terminology, be able to identify many pieces of equipment used in the OR, be able to differentiate sterile from unsterile. Must successfully complete an orientation program in the Perioperative Services Dept. Must be able to take call independently on weekend; BLS with previous OR exp. preferred.

 

Pharmacy Technician

Will assist the Pharmacist by filling physician orders for medications for oral, rectal, topical and injectable use; mixes IV admixture solutions as required using aseptic technique in the Laminar Air Flow Hood; types labels, prepares and files charge slips and performs other related duties.  Requirements:  High School diploma or equivalent; one year related pharmacy experience and /or training or graduate of a certified training program / healthcare careers college;  appropriate certificates or licenses required for this position.

Phlebotomist

Collects blood specimens at the Hospital, Milford Medical Lab, Patient Service Center’s (Out labs), Physician Office Collection Stations and Nursing Homes. Delivers specimens to the Laboratory.  Travels to nursing homes and remote collection stations as required. Registers patient in Meditech if required. Order-enters all requested patient testing. Receives all collected specimens into Meditech. Generates and processes Meditech Collection Batches at the appointed. Collects STAT’s; using the Meditech generated specimen labels.  Processes all specimens and requisitions, insuring that the documentation and the specimens are distributed as required.   Answers general Laboratory telephones and performs other clerical duties as required. Phlebotomy experience is required; valid CT drivers license with good driving history required.  

8 hrs./wk.:  2:00 PM - 10:30 PM every other weekend

16 hrs./wk. Tuesday & Wednesday on 3rd shift 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM.

 

 

PHLEBOTOMY SUPERVISOR

40 hrs./wk. 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.   Will supervise all phlebotomy activities, make work assignments and schedules of all three shifts; coordinates distributes and receives collected specimens to insure maximum efficiency while meeting lab test reporting deadlines; orders and maintains department supplies and assists with department payroll.  Requirements:  NPA Certification, strong demonstrated organizational skills, familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems, familiarity with software such as Word and Excel.  Supervisory experience preferred.  Phlebotomy experience is required; valid drivers license required.  

Physician Assistant / APRN - Surgical

Primarily to provide first assist on a variety of surgical cases including general surgery, gynecology, orthopedic, thoracic and vascular.  Also will have patient rounding and ED coverage responsibilities and call rotation.  A Connecticut PA or APRN and at least 1 year of surgical experience are required.  Experience in internal medicine is a plus.

Radiologic Technologist / Clinical Assistant

Per diem position to cover hours as needed; no guarantee of hours worked; no benefits with this position.  In addition to diagnostic imaging procedures, must demonstrate competency in venipuncture, with the ability to collect blood specimens; other functiuons as requested by area supervisor.  Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Sciences.  Minimum of 3 years radiology experience preferred; must have current ARRT & CT State License, CPR certification and venipuncture experience preferred.

Primary Function:  Performs optimal diagnostic imaging procedures in a hospital environment.  Must have the ability to manipulate and operate x-ray equipment to include fluoroscopy unit, both portable and fixed.  Demonstrates competency in all imaging exams including operating room procedures and trauma work with the knowledge and expertise of all job responsibilities in various clinical settings using various imaging equipment.  ARRT registry or registry pending and CT State License Required.

8 hrs./wk. 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM every other Saturday and Sunday.

Receptionist / Desk Clerk / Operator

Greets, screens, and directs patients and visitors to various hospital departments and services, issues visitor passes and covers the switchboard during meal times and and breaks. Switchboard coverage is required. Qualifications: Must project a positive and professional image of Milford Hospital at all times. Clerical, reception and switchboard experience needed. Excellent communication skills with basic computer knowledge required.  Must be able transport patients /visitors in wheelchairs, pull or push and lift objects less than 20lbs;  must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.

Per Diem position:  to cover hours as needed vacation, sick and holiday hours).  Primary hours of coverage will be evenings, weekends and holidays.   This position also provides switchboard coverage for meals and breaks.

Registered Dietitian

Dietitian will construct and coordinate individual patient nutritional plans to fulfill department objective of providing optimal nutritional care.  Requirements:  Bachelor Degree in Food and Nutrition; must be registered with and certified with the State of Connecticut.  Hospital experience is required.

40 hrs./wk. - Flexible 8 hr. shifts between 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM with weekend and holiday rotation.  Will provide a variety of tasks related to cleaning, decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilization and distribution of instruments and supplies required by medical, nursing and paramedical personnel. Requirements:  Must be a High School graduate or equivalent; Graduate of Sterile Processing Program; National Certification required or obtained within 1 year of hire.   SPD experience and/or surgical experience preferred.  Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 50 lbs., carry 35 lbs., push 200 lbs. and pull 40-50 lbs.

 

Surgical PA / APRN

Full time, primarily working with surgical patients.  The successful candidates will be first assist on a variety of surgical cases, including general surgery, gynecology, orthopedic, thoracic and vascular;  will have patient rounding and E.D. converage responsibility as well as call rotation.  Must be a licensed P.A. or APRN in Connecticut and have at least one year of surgical experience; experience in internal medicine is a plus.

Wound Care Center - RN / Case Manager

Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, plans, implements and evaluates the care of patients at the Advanced Wound Center (AWC) in a case management model that includes a holistic approach to a defined and assigned case of wound care patients.  Qualifications:  CT Registered Nurse license with a minimum of 2 years medical/surgical experience.  Wound Care experience preferred.
