The Surgical Technologist is an individual with specialized education who functions a a member of the surgical team in the role of the scrub person. Will have the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Surgical Technologists work under medical supervision to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. Full time - The Director of Facility Services is responsible for the day to day management and operations of the Engineering / Facilities and Environmental Services Departments. This includes, managing the renovation, repairs, maintenance, cleaning, grounds and utilities of the hospital and offsite facilities. Additional responsibilities include, Environment of Care, Life Safety and ensuring that all standards and codes of the State of Connecticut, Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies are met or exceeded. The Infection Preventionist is trained in hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of hospital and community acquired infections (HAI); educating employees about infection prevention; and the development of health system policies and procedures to insure rigorous infection control standards that meet Joint Commission, Centers for Medicaid/Medicare Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Connecticut Department of Public Health and other nationally recognized agencies recommendations and requirements. The Infection Preventionist also assists in the Employee Health Program.
