Accounts Receivable Analyst

40 hrs. /wk.  8:00AM-4:30PM, Monday - Friday.  Prepares daily bank deposits; receives and processes all A/R monies for patients, insurances and GL accounts from deposit to posting, reconciling BAR and GL differences.  Logging of patient valuables; processes all incoming and outgoing mail; coverage for Front Lobby office as needed; assist in resolution of self-pay credit balances; other duties assigned.  Must have knowledge of patient billing, excellent analytical skills; knowledge of Meditech and must be familiar with office equipment.  Experience:  Minimum of an Accounting Certification from a Business School required and /or Accounts Receivable experience in a Healthcare environment. 

Admitting Representative – Walk-In Center

16 hrs./wk. - every weekend 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM including rotating holidays.  Responsible for Registering Walk-In Center patients.  Will verify all demographic information as well as obtaining insurance information and verifying insurances via various websites; Responsible for opening, closing and balancing of the cash drawer and for the collection of co-payments.  Must be able to work efficiently and independently in a fast paced environment.  Requirements:  Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented and an independent worker, able to multi-task and have computer and internet usage skills.   Insurance experience is required.  Meditech experience and knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.


Admitting Representative

16 hrs./wk. - every Friday and Saturday 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM including rotating holidays.   Will be responsible for Registering patients for ER, Private Referral, Direct Admission and ER Admission. Will follow through on all daily inpatient functions; verify all demographic information as well as insurance information through various insurance websites; pre-registration for all elective procedures and obtain pre-certifications.  Must be able to work efficiently and independently in a fast paced environment. Excellent interpersonal skills with attention to detail; must be able to multi-task.  Insurance experience required; Meditech experience a plus. 



Case Manager

Will be responsible for providing verbal and written explanation of observation to all observation status admissions within 24 hours of admission.  Will also be responsible for facilitating appropriate level of care assignment and discharge planning in the Emergency Department.  Also, ensure that anticipated discharges on the Medical Surgical units occur.  Qualifications:  RN with a BSN and Connecticut State License, as well as 3-5 years of Case Management experience.  Knowledge of Milliman Care Guidelines preferred; Utilization Review and Discharge Planning experience in an acute hospital care setting; knowledge of Medicare guidelines; computer skills required.

Certified Nursing Assistant

Performs various duties assisting in the treatment and nursing care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient based on a fundamental knowledge and utilization of the nursing process and in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures.  Qualifications:  Must be a graduate of a Certified Nursing Assistant Program; State of Connecticut Certification is required. Prior acute care experience preferred. Skills:  BLS; basic computer skills including the ability to enter information pertaining to patient care per hospital policy.  Familiarity in working in Windows environment; knowledge of medical terminology; demonstrated working knowledge of a computerized medical information management system; demonstrated positive interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and project a positive image; good written and verbal communication skills required.

Certified Surgical Technician - OR

The Surgical Technologist is an individual with specialized education who functions as a member of the surgical team in the role of the scrub person.  He / she handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during surgical procedures.  Will have an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon.  Will have the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.  Surgical Technologists work under medical supervision to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.  Qualifications: Must be a Certified Surgical Technologist, a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program;  at least 2 years of prior experience is preferred; current  BLS Certification required.

Coder (Inpatient)

Per Diem position to cover hours as needed within the Dept. providing coverage towards the Hospital's coding of inpatient discharges.  This position ensures the consistency and facilities data quality relating to hospital inpatient coding and grouping.  Accepts accountability for quality, timeliness, completeness and accuracy of inpatient coding, abstracting and data entry to support patient severity, compliance, optimal and timely reimbursment and accurate statistics utilizing the ICD-10 code set.  Qualifications:  Formal HIM education with National Certification AHIMA-CCS, (RHIA, RHIT). Miminum 2 years progressive coding or coding review experience in inpatient coding with claims processing and/or data management responisbilities.  Strong ICD-10 coding skills and understanding of coding ethics and compliance.  Strong verbal communication, writing and presentation skills with strong computer PC/skills.


Will prepare food for all patients and customers in a clean environment practicing safe food handling; will read recipes, takes inventory and places food orders. Must have "Serve-Safe" Certification  within 6 months of hire.  Must have a minimum of one year Nursing Home or Hospital Cooking experience.  Prior Restaurant / Healthcare / Clinical food service experience preferred. Must be familiar with HACCP. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and withstand extended periods of standing and walking.

Perform expected tasks routinely and proactively.  Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent.  Qualifications:  EMT State of CT Certification required or must be a graduate of a Certified Nursing Assistant Program - State of CT Certificate required; current BLS Certification;  knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity working in a Windows environment.  Must have good written and verbal communication skills.  Experience preferred.

Food Services Supervisor

16 hrs./wk. to cover the 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM shift.  Must be able to work weekends and holidays when needed.   Supervises all aspects of the Dept.; audits, checks and manages staff functions to ensure proper meal service; relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals; completes administrative work (i.e. inventory, schedules); maintains a clean, sanitary environment for patients, visitors and staff.  Requirements: HS graduate with good communication/customer service skills a must with the ability to speak, understand and write English; Food Safety Certification; good working knowledge of commercial food service; requires familiarity with Nutrition Diet Modifications; must be able to program software and operate Tablet for Health Touch Patient Meal Ordering system.


Floor Refinisher / Service Aide

Per Diem position  to cover rotating shifts as needed.  No guarantee of weekly hours worked, no benefits with this position.   General cleaning, sweeping, mopping of floors, shampooing carpets, stripping & waxing floors, climbing ladders, bending and lifting up to 50lbs.  Prior floor care experience required.

Will promote meal assistance to all patients on a daily basis including meal selection, service and retrieval.  Accurately services food and beverages to patients in accordance with patient's diet prescription.  Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Must be a  High School graduate with good communication and customer service skills a must; able to speak and write English; prior healthcare food service experience; ability to be cross-trained; ability to use Health Touch software and tablet computer; knowledge of basic diet information; must successfully complete training.

Imaging Information Specialist

Per Diem position to cover hours as needed within the Dept.  No guarantee of weekly hours worked / no benefits with this position.   Will provide skilled office support to Radiologists  and Technologist with heavy phone interaction;  will burn imaging on CD's along with document scanning; will perform Quality Assessment on report, pull/file patient film; patient registration, order entry, insurance verification and collection of co-pay's.  Will utilize a network of computerized systems including Meditech, Powerscribe and Stentor; will provide quality service to patients, physicians and techs.  Requirements:  High School graduate or equivalent with experience in an Imaging Office or similar medical setting; medical terminology / imaging procedure terminology with excellent communication and organizational skills required.

Medical Lab Tech / Medical Technologist

Will perform various technical duties in the disciplines of Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank and Microbiology.  Operates both automated and manual testing instrumentation.  Evaluates quality control and verifies all patient results prior to release.  Contacts physicians to report critical results in accordance with laboratory policy; performs various computer operations in Meditech computer system, including patient registration / order entry, automated and manual result entry, quality control entry and patient result reporting.  In addition collects blood specimens in all areas of the hospital and Milford Medical Laboratory if required.  Requirements:  MT/MLT required with prior lab experience.  LG 35-37.

Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Per Diem position to cover hours as needed within the Dept.  No guarantee of hours and no benefits with this position.  Qualifications:  Minimum of 3 years experience preferred.  CNMT and /or RTN mandatory.  If employee holds an active R.T.R., a current CT state license is also required;  CPR certification; ACLS preferred.


The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the nursing care provided to patients, allocates and redistributes human and physical resources, assures patient safety, acts as resource person to staff, resolves problems for all hospital departments. Assures adequate staffing levels and mix for each nursing unit.  Qualifications: CT RN License.  BLS, ACLS required;  BSN or BS required; 5 years professional experience in acute care required.  1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred.

Pathology Secretary

Will provide secretarial services to the physicians and Laboratory Manager in the Dept. of Pathology, producing high quality patient reports for Surgical Pathology and Cytology using the Meditech Computer system.  Manages the department Quality Assurance program; generates statistical reports; submission and receipt of pathology consultation specimens and reports; responds to telephone inquiries, managing the communication between pathologist and attending physicians; performs other secretarial services as required by the Chief Pathologist, Lab Manager and Section Supervisors including, but not limited to, procedure typing and billing issue resolution.  Requirements:  General secretarial experience and knowledge relating to surgical pathology and cytopathology operations; keyboard skills relating to data entry, word processing and spreadsheet generation; pathology and cytology; ability to manage a pathology QA program and to generate required statistical reports.

Pharmacy Technician

40 hrs./wk. (or will consider 2-20 hr. positions) - this is a floating schedule.  Will assist the Pharmacist by filling physician orders for medications for oral, rectal, topical and injectable use; mixes IV admixture solutions as required using aspeptic technique in the Laminar Air Flow Hood; type's labels, prepares and files charge slips and performs other related duties.  Requirements:  High School Graduate or equivalent; One-year related pharmacy experience and/or training or graduate of a certified training program/healthcare careers college.  Education in all age groups obtained with in school education, experience or subsequent training.  Appropriate certificates or licenses required for the position; IV admixture / clean room experience preferred.

Physician Assistant / APRN - Surgical

Primarily to provide first assist on a variety of surgical cases including general surgery, gynecology, orthopedic, thoracic and vascular.  Also will have patient rounding and ED coverage responsibilities and call rotation.  A Connecticut PA or APRN and at least 1 year of surgical experience are required.  Experience in internal medicine is a plus.

Radiologic Technologist / Clinical Assistant

Radiologic Technologist
