CT Scan Technologist

 Will perform duties in the CT Dept. including scanning and procedures while providing optimal patient care. Ability to independently operate all CT equipment with adherence to policy and procedural protocols.  Qualifications:  Completion of an accredited Radiology Technology program with advanced training in Computed Axial Tomography preferred; current ARRT and CT State License  or eligible; CT Certified or eligible and CPR Certification.

24 hrs./wk. Monday and Thursday 3:30 PM - 12 AM; every other Saturday and Sunday 3:30 PM - 12 AM.

Certified Nursing Assistant

Performs various duties assisting in the treatment and nursing care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient based on a fundamental knowledge and utilization of the nursing process and in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures.  Qualifications:  Must be a graduate of a Certified Nursing Assistant Program; State of Connecticut Certification is required. Prior acute care experience or long term experience 2 years or greater is strongly preferred. Skills:  BLS; basic computer skills including the ability to enter information pertaining to patient care per hospital policy.  Familiarity in working in Windows environment; knowledge of medical terminology; demonstrated working knowledge of a computerized medical information management system; demonstrated positive interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and project a positive image; good written and verbal communication skills required.

Certified Surgical Technician - OR

The Surgical Technologist is an individual with specialized education who functions as a member of the surgical team in the role of the scrub person.  He / she handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during surgical procedures.  Will have an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon.  Will have the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.  Surgical Technologists work under medical supervision to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.  QualificationsMust be a Certified Surgical Technologist, a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program; certification required; experience required; current  BLS certification required.

Coder (Outpatient)

Responsible for identifying principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures on all Outpatient discharges, assigning appropriate ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM and CPT codes to each, and for verifying and maintaining the accuracy of the abstracted clinical and financial data. This position is responsible for correct and compliant coding and abstracting for outpatient records in an acute care Hospital environment.  Requirements:  CPC/CCS, including ICD-10 certification required.  Extensive knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10 CM, modifiers and E&M coding.  Knowledge of federal, state and payer-specific regulations and policies pertaining to documentation, coding, charging and billing required.  At least 2-3 years of hospital outpatient coding experience preferably with a concentration in Ambulatory Surgeries.  Knowledge of 3M and Meditech applications preferred.  Comprehensive and working knowledge of DRG and APC classification systems.

Dietetic Technician

Dietetic Technician will ensure that patients receive optimal nourishment based on MD orders, medical specific needs and patients' personal preference. Candidates must demonstrate effective organizational skills to ensure the smooth functioning of dietary service by adhering to established standards for obtaining and processing patient meal selections.  Must be technologically savvy with the ability to utilize electronic diet office systems. An Associate's degree and Dietetic Technicians registration are required; candidates with a Bachelor's degree in food and nutrition, allied health, or related field are welcome to apply.

 

Director - Diagnostic Imaging

Full time position.  Plans, directs and monitors operations, functions and resources of the Diagnostic Imaging Dept. at Milford Hospital.  This includes, but is not limited to, X-ray/Diagnostics, CT Scan, Interventional Radiology, Mammography, MRI, Echocardiography, Ultrasound, PET, Bone Density and Radiology Records.  Is responsible for day to day operations and strategic planning of the Department.  Also responsible for regulatory compliance.  Requires a Bachelor of Science in Radiology, Clinical experience and at least 5 years of Management experience.  Advanced Certification in an advanced modality and Radiology Technology Licensure in Connecticut.

ECHOCARDIOGRAPHER

Per diem position available to cover hours as needed within the Dept. No guarantee of hours/no benefits with this position. Performs a variety of non-invasive technical procedures in cardiac graphics utilizing high frequency sound waves to study movement and size of the various cardiac structures for the diagnosis of heart disorders. Experience/Education: Must be a High School Grad or equivalent; work requires sufficient education/training to acquire American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) (RDCS); Registry eligible; one year completed formal ultrasound training; CPR certified. Skills: EEG/EKG Recording; Echocardiography, TEE, Stress Echocardiography, B-Mode and Doppler.

Electrician - 1

40 hrs. / wk. on the 1st shift.  Responsible for maintaining, repairing, modifying, renovating installation and construction of electrical systems that includes (high voltage) and secondary circuits. Normal and Emergency Power Distribution, UPS, Fire Protection Systems, Security Systems, Audio-Visual Systems and other related equipment tasks as they apply to demands of the department.  All work needs to be completed in accordance with pertinent local, state and national codes.  Responsible for general building and off site facilities maintenance as work demand requires.  High school graduate and Technical School preferred;  E-1 License required. Perform work with greater degree of self-sufficiency and independence.  To be mentor and provides guidance and to train lower level electricians.  Years of experience >10 with experience in Healthcare (Hospital, Long Term Care Institutions).  Commercial experience could be acceptable if related to the position demands.  Knowledge of federal, state and local codes and ordinances related to facilities plumbing and piping systems.  Ability to read schematics and blueprints and/or technical manuals, engineering  drawings and sequences of operations.  Understanding and willing to learn of Building Automation Systems, Fire Protection System, HVAC Systems and Building Maintenance.    Provide technician expertise to his/her superior and guidance and direction to lower level personnel.  Ability to work in multidisciplinary department as a part of a team.  Required to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis as per schedule; occasional shift work including second and third shift as per department needs.  Required to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as per work demands.  Provides support in snow removal on hospital grounds and off site areas as required.  Provide other support as work load requires. 

Emergency Room Technician

Will demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care to the appropriate age of the patient.  Facilitates timely, individualized care of assigned patient under the direction of the RN.  Works collaboratively with RN/MD staff in order to meet individualized needs of the patient.  Provides patient safety in a manner that prevents injury. Perform expected tasks routinely and proactively.  Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent.  Qualifications:  EMT with State of CT Certification required; or must be a graduate of a Certified Nursing Assistant Program with a State of CT Certificate required; or nursing student in an RN program through first semester of year 1 with related experience.  Current BLS Certification;  knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity working in a Windows environment.  Must have good written and verbal communication skills.  Experience preferred.

 Performs various technical duties in the disciplines of Blood Bank, Chemistry and Hematology.  Operates both automated and manual testing instrumentation.  Evaluates quality control and verifies all patient results prior to release.  Contact physicians to report critical results in accordance with Laboratory policy. Can be trained to perform off-shift testing in Microbiology.  Performs various computer operations in the Meditech computer system, including patient registration/order entry, automated and manual result entry, quality control entry and patient result reporting.  In addition, collects blood specimens in all areas of the Hospital, if required.  Requires 2 year or 4 year degree in Medical Technology or biology.  Requires demonstrated technical proficiency in the Clinical Lab; experience with automated and manual instrumentation and experience and knowledge relating to collection of blood specimens from patients of all ages.  Unless indicated, all responsibilities are essential functions of the position.

MRI TECHNOLOGIST

Performs all MRI Imaging exams and procedures in a hospital environment.  Ability to independently operate MRI scanner in a safe and effective manner while providing optimal patient care.  Prefer a minimum of 6 months MRI experience; successful completion from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology; minimum of 2 years diagnostic radiology experience, preferably in a hospital setting; current ARRT and State License; MRI Registry (required within 18 months of hire or 18 months of initial training date); BLS certification.

OPERATING ROOM ASSISTANT

Under the direction of the RN, assists the perioperative care team in many aspects of patient care, including but not limited to, patient care assistance, care of the environment, stocking rooms, picking cases, transportation of patients, supplies/equipment, specimens and blood products to, from and within the surgical unit. Must be a High School graduate; preferable a graduate of an Operating Room Assistant program, Surgical Technician program, or a C.N.A. Must be knowledgeable regarding basic medical terminology, be able to identify many pieces of equipment used in the OR, be able to differentiate sterile from unsterile. Must successfully complete an orientation program in the Perioperative Services Dept. Must be able to take call independently on weekend; BLS with previous OR exp. preferred.

Pharmacy Technician

Will assist the Pharmacist by filling physician orders for medications for oral, rectal, topical and injectable use; mixes IV admixture solutions as required using aseptic technique in the Laminar Air Flow Hood; Omnicell; type's labels, prepares and files charge slips and performs other related duties.  Requirements:  High School Graduate or equivalent; One-year related pharmacy experience and/or training or graduate of a certified training program/healthcare careers college.  Education in all age groups obtained with in school education, experience or subsequent training.  Appropriate certificates or licenses is required for the position; IV admixture / clean room experience preferred.

Phlebotomist

Collects blood specimens at the Hospital, Milford Medical Lab, Patient Service Center’s (Out labs), Physician Office Collection Stations and Nursing Homes. Delivers specimens to the Laboratory.  Travels to nursing homes and remote collection stations as required. Registers patient in Meditech if required. Order-enters all requested patient testing. Receives all collected specimens into Meditech. Generates and processes Meditech Collection Batches at the appointed. Collects STAT’s; using the Meditech generated specimen labels.  Processes all specimens and requisitions, insuring that the documentation and the specimens are distributed as required.   Answers general Laboratory telephones and performs other clerical duties as required. Phlebotomy experience is required; valid CT driver's license with good driving history required.

Physician Assistant / APRN - Surgical

Primarily to provide first assist on a variety of surgical cases including general surgery, gynecology, orthopedic, thoracic and vascular.  Also will have patient rounding and ED coverage responsibilities and call rotation.  A Connecticut PA or APRN and at least 1 year of surgical experience are required.  Experience in internal medicine is a plus.

PHYSICAL THERAPIST- Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

Per Diem position to primarily cover weekends (Saturday 7:30 AM - 4 PM and Sunday 7:30 AM - 12 Noon).  No guarantee of hours/no benefits with this position.  Will provide physical therapy services to patients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes; provide prevention and wellness services, including screening and health promotion.  The physical therapist works within the practice guidelines as defined by Connecticut state law.  Requirements:  Bachelor degree in Physical Therapy, with Master's or Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy preferred. Current Physical Therapist license in Connecticut. Prior experience in an Acute Care environment preferred. Computer literacy, specific to clinical documentation is preferred.

Radiology Aide

4 hrs./wk. every other weekend 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.   Will transport patients  to the Diagnostic Imaging Department from all areas of the hospital. Will assist technologist in providing optimal patient care.  Will transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher and transfer patients from beds, chairs and imaging tables.  Training and knowledge of Universal Precautions; understanding and acceptance of possible exposure to blood and bodily fluids; knowledge and safety standards regarding oxygen equipment, I-med, monitors  and catheters;  ability to move / lift a minimum weight of 100 lbs. on a routine basis; ensures comfort, dignity and confidentiality of patients and ability appropriately respond to the patient needs during transport. High School Diploma or equivalent; Minimum of 1 year patient care and/or hospital experience preferred; CPR Certification preferred.

Radiologic Technologist / Clinical Assistant- Walk-In Center
