Admitting Representative

14 hrs./wk.  6:00 PM - 10:00 PM Tuesday & Friday; every other weekend 3:30 PM - 10:00 PM including rotating holidays.   Will be responsible for Registering patients for ER, Private Referral, Direct Admission and ER Admission. Will follow through on all daily inpatient functions; verify all demographic information as well as insurance information through various insurance websites; pre-registration for all elective procedures and obtain pre-certifications.  Must be able to work efficiently and independently in a fast paced environment. Excellent interpersonal skills with attention to detail; must be able to multi-task.  Insurance experience required; Meditech experience a plus. 






40 hrs./wk. 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.  In this role, candidate will prepare billing statements and claim forms to insurance Payers and/or patients.  The key function of this position is to monitor submissions for prompt payment from all Payers to ensure maximization of revenues.  The successful Analyst will review and analyze medical charts for proper CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding for submission to various carriers.  Will reserch rejected or suspended claims for re-submission and payment.  Requirements:  Minimum of 2 years of healthcare and medical billing or collections exp. required.  Experience with medical Billing in a hospital or an acute care health facility is preferred.  Must have thorough knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding and medical terminology with thorough knowledge of insurance requlations, (government and/or commercial) and medical billing procedures and reimbursement forms.  Computer literacy required.  Experience with Meditech EMR a plus. Must be proficient in Microsoft, Excel and Word. Candidate must posses a High School diploma or equivalent. Graduate from a formal billing or accounts receivable training program, AS degree, CPAT or CPAM certification preferred, or equivalent work experience. 

Case Manager

Will be responsible for providing verbal and written explanation of observation to all observation status admissions within 24 hours of admission.  Will also be responsible for facilitating appropriate level of care assignment and discharge planning in the Emergency Department.  Also, ensure that anticipated discharges on the Medical Surgical units occur.  Qualifications:  RN with a BSN and Connecticut State License, as well as 3-5 years of Case Management experience.  Knowledge of Milliman Care Guidelines preferred; Utilization Review and Discharge Planning experience in an acute hospital care setting; knowledge of Medicare guidelines; computer skills required.

Certified Nursing Assistant

Performs various duties assisting in the treatment and nursing care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient based on a fundamental knowledge and utilization of the nursing process and in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures.  Qualifications:  Must be a graduate of a Certified Nursing Assistant Program; State of Connecticut Certification is required. Prior acute care experience preferred. Skills:  BLS; basic computer skills including the ability to enter information pertaining to patient care per hospital policy.  Familiarity in working in Windows environment; knowledge of medical terminology; demonstrated working knowledge of a computerized medical information management system; demonstrated positive interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and project a positive image; good written and verbal communication skills required.

Certified Surgical Technician - OR

The Surgical Technologist is an individual with specialized education who functions as a member of the surgical team in the role of the scrub person.  He / she handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during surgical procedures.  Will have an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon.  Will have the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.  Surgical Technologists work under medical supervision to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.  Qualifications: Must be a Certified Surgical Technologist, a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program;  at least 2 years of prior experience is preferred; current  BLS Certification required.

Coder (Inpatient)

Responsible for identifying principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures on all Inpatient discharges, assigning appropriate ICD-10 and PCS codes to each and for verfiying and maintaining the accuracy of the abstracted clinical and financial data, in an acute care Hospital environment.  Accepts accountability for quality, timeliness, completeness and accuracy of inpatient coding and all abstraction and data entry to support all regulatory compliance, including core measures and hospital statistics.  Qualifications:  Formal HIM education with National Certification AHIMA-CCS, (RHIA, RHIT). Miminum 2 years progressive coding or coding review experience in inpatient coding with claims processing and/or data management responisbilities.  Strong ICD-10 and PCS coding skills and understanding of coding ethics and compliance.  Strong computer PC/skills.

40 hrs./wk. full time (will consider 24 hrs./wk. part time)


Will prepare food for all patients and customers in a clean environment practicing safe food handling; will read recipes, takes inventory and places food orders. Must have "Serve-Safe" Certification  within 6 months of hire.  Must have a minimum of one year Nursing Home or Hospital Cooking experience.  Prior Restaurant / Healthcare / Clinical food service experience preferred. Must be familiar with HACCP. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and withstand extended periods of standing and walking.

Food Service Aide / Utility Worker

Food Services Supervisor

Supervises all aspects of the Dept.; audits, checks and manages staff functions to ensure proper meal service; relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals; completes administrative work (i.e. inventory, schedules); maintains a clean, sanitary environment for patients, visitors and staff.  Requirements: HS graduate with good communication/customer service skills a must with the ability to speak, understand and write English; Food Safety Certification; good working knowledge of commercial food service; requires familiarity with Nutrition Diet Modifications; must be able to program software and operate Tablet for Health Touch Patient Meal Ordering system.

Floor Refinisher / Service Aide

Full Time Position, Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM with rotating holidays and weekends as needed.  General cleaning, sweeping, mopping of floors, shampooing carpets, stripping & waxing floors, climbing ladders, bending and lifting up to 50lbs.  Prior floor care experience required.

Imaging Information Specialist/Radiology Records Associate

Per Diem position to cover hours as needed within the Dept.  No guarantee of weekly hours worked / no benefits with this position.   Will provide skilled office support to Radiologists  and Technologist with heavy phone interaction;  will burn imaging on CD's along with document scanning; will perform Quality Assessment on report, pull/file patient film; patient registration, order entry, insurance verification and collection of co-pay's.  Will utilize a network of computerized systems including Meditech, Powerscribe and Stentor; will provide quality service to patients, physicians and techs.  Requirements:  High School graduate or equivalent with experience in an Imaging Office or similar medical setting; medical terminology / imaging procedure terminology with excellent communication and organizational skills required.

Medical Lab Tech / Medical Technologist

Will perform various technical duties in the Laboratory.  Operates both automated and manual testing instrumentation.  Evaluates quality control and verifies all patient results prior to release.  Contacts physicians to report critical results in accordance with laboratory policy; performs various computer operations in Meditech computer system, including patient registration / order entry, automated and manual result entry, quality control entry and patient result reporting.  In addition collects blood specimens in all areas of the hospital and Milford Medical Laboratory if required.  Requirements:  2 yr. or 4 yr. degree in medical technology or biology; clinical laboratory experience required.  Demonstrated technical proficiency in the Microbiology section of the Lab; experience with automated and manual instrumentation; experience and knowledge relating to collection of blood specimens from patients of all ages; keyboarding skills relating to Meditech computer system; unless indicated all responsibilites are essential functions of the position.

Performs all MRI Imaging exams and procedures in a hospital environment.  Ability to independently operate MRI scanner in a safe and effective  manner while providing optimal patient care.  Prefer a minimum of 6 months MRI experience; successful completion from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology; minimum of 2 years diagnotic radiology experience, preferably in a hospital setting; current ARRT and State License; MRI Registry (required within 18 months of hire or 18 months of initial training date); BLS certification.

Medical Staff Coordinator

40 hrs./wk on the day shift.  Responsible for coordinating, monitoring and maintaining the credentialing and re-credentialing process for the Medical Staff.  Facilitates all aspects of credentialing including initial appointment, re-appointment, expiration process, as well as clinical privilegeing for Medical Staff, Midlevel Practitioners (Physician Assistants and Advance Practice Nurses), and all other providers outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws, policies, or related contracts.  Ensures interpretation and compliance with the appropriate accrediting and regulatory agencies, while developing and maintaining a working knowledge of the statutes and laws relating to credentialing.  Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the credentialing database systems and related applications.  Requirements:  High School Graduate or equivalent required; an Associate degree preferred; Prior experience as a Medical Staff Coordinator to include experience with credentialing and privileges, in a hospital setting is required.  Significant knowledge of personal computers and related software is essential.  Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Outlook is preferred.  Current software used for provider credentialing is ECHO- training provided; experience with this software desirable.  Medical Staff Coordinator Certification desired.

Enters patient registration data and patient charges in the Medical Manager Billing System.  Performs billing follow-up and correction activities as directed. Post charges and produces monthly reports for the Milford Hospital A/R Department as needed. Assists MML Billing Supervisor. Performs billing activities associated with nursing homes. Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Pathology Secretary

Delivers specimens to the Laboratory.  Travels to nursing homes and remote collection stations as required. Registers patient in Meditech if required. Order-enters all requested patient testing. Receives all collected specimens into Meditech. Generates and processes Meditech Collection Batches at the appointed. Collects STAT’s; using the Meditech generated specimen labels.  Processes all specimens and requisitions, insuring that the documentation and the specimens are distributed as required.   Answers general Laboratory telephones and performs other clerical duties as required. Phlebotomy experience is required; valid CT driver's license with good driving history required.  



Physician Assistant / APRN - Surgical

Primarily to provide first assist on a variety of surgical cases including general surgery, gynecology, orthopedic, thoracic and vascular.  Also will have patient rounding and ED coverage responsibilities and call rotation.  A Connecticut PA or APRN and at least 1 year of surgical experience are required.  Experience in internal medicine is a plus.

Radiologic Technologist / Clinical Assistant- Walk-In Center

Per diem position to cover hours as needed at the Walk-In Center; no guarantee of hours worked; no benefits with this position.  In addition to diagnostic imaging procedures, must demonstrate competency in venipuncture, with the ability to collect blood specimens; other functions as requested by area supervisor.  Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Sciences.  Minimum of 3 years radiology experience preferred; must have current ARRT & CT State License, CPR certification and venipuncture experience preferred. 

Radiologic Technologist

Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, plans, implements and evaluates the care of patients at the Advanced Wound Center (AWC) in a case management model that includes a holistic approach to a defined and assigned case of wound care patients.  Qualifications:  CT Registered Nurse license with a minimum of 2 years medical/surgical experience.  Wound Care experience preferred.
