Diagnosing a concern is the first step towards recovery from any medical condition. Digital technology yields better-quality images for interpretation and they can be stored electronically. Your physician can access the images instantly from throughout the hospital and from a secure web site at his/her office.
Milford Hospital's radiology services are fully accredited by the American College of Radiology and our radiologists are board certified. We offer a pleasant and convenient alternative to big city hospitals while maintaining the highest medical standards and quality patient care.
General x-ray exam that captures clear, precise images using radiation. Digital radiography requires no film processing. Test results can be viewed seconds after the exposure is made.
Is a detailed x-ray of the breast that can detect cancerous or precancerous areas before a lump is found on physical exam.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a diagnostic test that uses a strong magnetic field and rapid pulses of radio waves. These produce high quality two- or threedimensional images of specific areas inside the body.
A computed tomography (CT) scan uses x-rays and a sophisticated computer to view specific parts of the body's anatomy in great detail.
Positron emission tomography (PET) is a sophisticated imaging technique. It provides information about metabolic activity, how the body's organ systems function and how rapidly cells grow.
A minimally invasive guided procedure used as an alternative to surgical testing.
High frequency sound waves are used to produce real-time visual images to view internal structures.
A bone mineral density test measures bone strength and quality. It is often used to detect osteoporosis.
Used to view anatomy and real-time organ function through the use of small amounts of radioactive agents, called tracers. These tracers move through specific parts of the body while a dedicated nuclear medicine camera captures their images
