REPRESENTATIVE: Per Diem position to cover hours as needed within the Dept.; no guarantee of hour and no benefits.Responsibilities include: registering patient for ER, Private Referral, Maternity as well as Direct Admissions and upgrades from ER to Inpatient; verify all demographic information as well as obtaining insurance information and verifications of insurance; work with nursing staff for proper bed assignments and the notification of all nursing areas of be assignments; pre-registration for elective surgeries; obtaining pre-certification when necessary and entering pre-certification numbers into system. Must have good interpersonal skills, be an independent worker, be able to type and have computer and Internet experience. Meditech and insurance experience preferred.


BUSINESS OFFICE

RECOVERY AUDIT CONTRACTOR, MANAGER: 40 hrs./wk. Will oversee, coordinate and maintain the Hospital's preparedness and response to the Medicare Recovery Audit Contractor process, and act as the Hospital contact person for any reviews, inquires and/or audits. Responsibilities include monitoring the timeliness of activities, responses and appeals; tracking data; identifying issues and trends or RAC denials, maintaining expert knowledge of compliance issues including knowledge of Federal healthcare billing rules and regulations; and overseeing ongoing education and awareness of RAC requirements, processes and procedures. Must be able to perform clinical chart & billing audits; have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care Administration or a related area; a strong demonstrated knowledge of healthcare reimbursement rules & methodologies, an analytical mind, at least 3-5 years of experience in health care compliance, coding, denials and revenue cycle management and spreadsheet and database applications experience. The ideal candidate is an RN with case management and certified coding experience in a hospital setting.

CASHIER: 40hrs./wk. Monday - Friday 8 AM - 4:30 PM. A highly energetic individual needed who has comprehensive knowledge of healthcare billing and collections. The cashier's primary responsibilities include posting payments from insurers and patients, including point-of-service collections, preparing deposits and reconciling daily cash. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in PC applications, accounting and the use of all office equipment. The cashier must be able to interact in a positive and professional manner with patients, co-workers and insurance companies. Requires a minimum of two years cashiering experience, preferably in a hospital setting with Meditech Client Server knowledge a plus.

INFORMATION DESK RECEPTIONIST/CLERK: Greets, screens and directs patients and visitors to various hospital departments and services. Issues visitor passes. Must project a positive and professional image at all times; must have excellent communication skills with basic computer knowledge. Must have the ability to perform responsibilities with limited direct supervision. Must be able to transport patients/visitors in wheelchairs, pull, push and lift objects less than 20 lbs.; must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.

MEDICAL RECORDS

ER CODER 1 : Per diem position to cover hours as needed within the Dept. No guarantee of hours/ no benefits with this position. Candidate must be a Certified Coding Specialist to perform Emergency Dept. professional and facility coding and charging. Responsible for assigning the E&M level code, procedure code and charge entry for both physician and hospital.

HIM ANALYST: 16 hrs./wk.- days and shift to be determined. The HIM Analyst will independently perform processing of discharged patient records including assembly and analysis. Will review discharged patient records to determine if they are in correct sequence, complete and accurate and update electronic system. Will assign records to physician for completion and provide follow up; other duties as assigned by the Director Of Medical Records. The HIM Analyst must demonstrate the ability to multi-task and provide superior customer service when dealing with Medical Record customers and Hospital Medical Staff. Excellent problem solving, organizational skills and attention to detail needed. Requires a High School diploma or GED equivalent, previous experience with Meditech, analyzing medical records and managing an incomplete file in a hospital setting.

 


NURSING ADMINISTRATION

MANAGER - Emergency Center: Full time position - 24-hour accountability for EC operations. Will manage the day-to-day operations and resources of our ECC and the Walk-In Center to include quality patient care, staff development and ensuring a high level of patient and staff satisfaction. A valid CT RN license, BSN or equivalent, masters preferred. Emergency medicine management/supervisory experience are required - 5 years professional experience in acute care and 3-5 years management experience. Experience in a computerized clinical documentation environment is desired. Certification in Emergency Nursing is a plus.

NURSING SUPERVISOR: (2) Per Diem positions to cover hours/shifts as needed within the hospital. Is responsible for the nursing care provided to patients, assures patient safety, acts as resource person to staff, resolves problems for all hospital departments, allocates and redistributes human and physical resources. Assures adequate staffing levels and mix for each nursing unit. Must be a graduate of an accredited Nursing Program and holds a current CT RN license. A Baccalaureate degree is required with a minimum of 5 years professional experience in acute care with 1-2 year's supervisor experience; BLS and ACLS.

Coordinates continuous survey readiness to meet accreditation requirements by the Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies (e.g. CT Department of Public Health [DPH]). Facilitates the JC Preparedness Committee (reports to the PIC) Facilitates the Performance Improvement Committee (PIC) - oversight for all PI activities. Must be a graduate of a state accredited School of Nursing with a valid, current Connecticut Registered Nurse License. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) is desired.
