LABORATORY
MML-MDX
PCR TECHNOLOGIST/TECHNICIAN: 20
hrs./wk. 8:00 AM - 12 Noon, Monday - Friday with occasional
weekends.
Performs
various technical duties in Molecular Diagnostics. Operates
both automated and manual testing instrumentation, including
Thermo-Cycler, DNA Sequencer and Gel Electrophoreses. Performs
repetitive precision pipetting on a daily basis in a contamination-free
environment. Evaluates quality control and verifies all
patient results prior to release. Performs various computer
operations in the Meditech computer system, including patient
registration/order entry, automated and manual result entry,
quality control entry and patient result reporting. Performs
computer functions associated with clinical instrumentation.
Experience with molecular diagnostic instrumentation, including
Thermo-Cycler and Gel electrophoresis with demonstrated
technical proficiency. . Experience with DNA Sequencing;
demonstrated technical proficiency. Computer skills relating
to Meditech and instrumentation computer systems preferred.
CHEMISTY
SUPERVISOR: Full
time, 40 hours, 7:30 A.M. - 4:00 P.M, with rotating weekends
and holidays. Requirements: A baccalaureate degree in a
clinical science. Qualified as a General Supervisor or Technical
Supervisor under CLIA-88. Certification as a Medical Technologist
by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (MT-ASCP)
or equivalent. Completion of one year of clinical training
in an accredited hospital laboratory, or equivalent clinical
laboratory training. Six years of clinical laboratory experience
in an accredited clinical laboratory required. Responsibilities:
Will supervise all operations in the clinical chemistry
section. Delivers accurate, cooperative and courteous service,
and works collaboratively as part of the department team.
Accepts supervisory responsibilities and performs supervisory
duties in the clinical section. Continually reviews quality
control data and maintenance records on instrumentation
and equipment in an assigned clinical section. Performs
patient testing in all clinical sections of the Laboratory.

HEALTH
INFO. TRAINING/APPLICATIONS SPECIALIST:Full
time day position. Position will develop and evaluate the
appropriate training exercises and materials to promote
effective learning of the Dictaphone Front-end speech recognition
system (Dragon). Trains, schedules and supports physicians
and clinicians in the use of the Dragon system and conducts
daily QA, maintain statistics, test system changes as needed.
Will also provide pager support during regular hours to
directly assist the Medical Staff/clinicians with system-related
questions/problems/suggestions. Requirements: Bachelor's
Degree or equivalent experience, experience in transcription
management and computer voice recognition systems administration
including maintenance of voice files and teaching/training
is needed. Must have proven excellent oral and written communication

Monday - Friday, in Perianesthesia Services (SurgiCenter,
PACU). Manages and mentors personnel by recruiting, interviewing,
and selecting appropriate staff. Quantifies care and provides
for appropriate work force. Evaluates and counsels staff.
Develops department goals that are consistent with hospital
goals and mission. Collaborates with other hospital departments.
Assures compliance with regulatory agency standards. Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program, holds a current
RN license in the State of Connecticut, Baccalaureate
degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years professional experience
in acute care. 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred.
BLS, ACLS preferred, computer literate (word processing,
spread sheets, Windows applications), and excellent interpersonal
skills, good writing skills, and good leadership skills.

assuring appropriate staffing mix and staffing level for
each shift on nursing units. Functions as a focal communication
link for the nursing units and assumes secretarial and

and scheduling experience preferred. Must have good written
and verbal communication skills, and excellent telephone
