At our November 18th Annual Meeting, Milford Hospital President and CEO, Joseph Pelaccia announced that the hospital has been recognized as a 2014 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission the leading accreditor of health care organizations in the United States. The hospital was recognized as part of The Joint Commission's 2015 annual report "America's Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety", for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance for Surgical Care, Pneumonia and Immunization. Milford Hospital is one of nine hospitals in Connecticut to achieve this distinction.
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has named Milford Hospital a Blue Distinction Center+ in Knee and Hip Replacement. The Blue Distinction Centers for Specialty Care program is a national designation awarded by Blue Cross and Blue Shield to medical facilities that have demonstrated expertise in delivering quality specialty care.
Heart Disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, but it is manageable and preventable. February is designated as American Heart Month, a time dedicated toward raising awareness regarding heart disease. On Wednesday, February 10th, at 6:00pm, Milford Hospital will host a "Dinner with the Doc" program presented by Cardiologist, Dr. Clifford Kramer.
